This was my first trip out with other trucks. Steve has a '92 YJ and Stan arrived in his new Chevy 4x4 Pickup. We managed to put over 30 miles of hard 4 wheeling in that day, and we all made it over every hill and thru every mud pit without any trouble.
I met Steve and Stan thru this website and they were nice enough to invite me to come along on a ride down the powerlines near Stan's house. They traveled with there Significant Others and I rode solo in the YJ. We left Stan's about noon and headed down a maze of small roads that turned to dirt and then a side trail to where the real action was. The first chalenge that we came to was a small mountain (OK, maybe a big hill) with a 'road' up that was littered with basketball sized rocks.
I was the first up, and made it in one shot with more power than grace. Steve went next, and also made it in one attempt but unfortunatly wasn't wearing his seat belt and whacked his head on the rollbar after hitting a bump on the climb. He wasn't hurt but decided to keep the seat belt on for the rest of the day. Stan took the Big Chevy up last, and made it with ease.
Now, my Jeep Pride is making this very hard to say, but the Chevy did a great job that day. I was expecting to see me and Steve pulling it out of a mudhole or getting it 'unbeached', but the Chevy just wouldn't seem to get stuck. Stan even had the balls to go thru a mud pit, stop just before the end, back up to the begining, adjust his Lumbar Support ("It just didn't feel right going thru the mud"), and take a different route thru the pit again. This was Stan's first trip behind the wheel, and he was loving every minute of it.
These pics are mainly of Steve's YJ and Stan's Chevy, they were taking pics also and I'll post their pics (which hopfully will include some nice shots of my YJ) as soon as I get them.
