Upgrading to V-8 (maybe)

I'm really considering of replacing my 2.5 ltr. engine with possibly a small block v-8 in my '92 Y-J. I,ve heard of adapter kits that will enable me to do this. I'd like to get some insight from others who might of done this before. Thanks.
