: Can anyone tell me about a problem I may have with my 94 Jeep Wrangler? My oil pressure gauge seems to be fine but goes to 80 when I'm driving. It goes to a little below 40 when I'm stopped. Is this normal?

Followup:

I too am having aproblem with my 1997 cherokee sport's oil guage.
mine reads at idle "about 650 rpm," 14-16 lb..
According to the owners this is acceptable at Idle
while the engine is at running temp.
for city driving 20 to 50, highway 45 to 55.

I'd say yours was reading high. possibly a relief valve sticking open or defective valve.
