: : My 91 yj with a 4.0 won't do over 50mph on the high way I think it is the fuel pump how common is this and should I get a oem pump or is aftermarket ok.

: Most of the efi fuel pump failures i have come across, bogging due to low fuel pressure was not the concern. Usually when a electric fuel pump starts to go, the engine wont run at all, or it will die. If you suspect that your fuel pump is bad, you would be best off getting a fuel pressure gauge, and watch it while driving down the highway. Just duct tape it to the windshield if the hose is't long enough. Yea, you will look funny,, but it will tell you what you need to know, and if the pump is ok, it will pay for itself right there. I would guess you probably have a sensor failure...but thats just a guess.
