: : : I presently have a 78 CJ7 with a 90 YJ tub I did some crawling and cracked the frame. I have a few questions:
: : : 1. What is the toughest frame available for a Jeep?(I plan to change the diffs)
: : : 2. What are the prices of frames used or new?
: : : 3. Where can I get them. Webb sites locations would be great?
: : : 4. What treatment could I do to the frame to prevent it from rusting. I live in Quebec therefore alot of salt and temp changes.

: : A custom built frame will be strng but expensive
: : And you can prevent rust with some por 15

do what I am doing, take an original jeep frame, dimension it,
and construct a new frame out of a low grade (or high grade)
stainless. It will cost a little more, but you won't have to
worry about rust. If you want a used frame, contact local junk yards
in your area. I originally bought a 1980 cj7 with a bad frame, and a person
that parted old jeeps gave me a 1985 because he had no room for it.
Look around, especially in the states, you can find a good condition used
frame for around $200.00, and then add some gussets to strengthen it.
I have a question for you also, if you can answer it. my jeep was called a golden hawk,
not a golden eagle. It had a bueatiful hawk hood emblem and golden hawk written down the
sides. It also came from canada, and no one I have talked to has seen one like it, Have you
seen this model of jeep?
