:Ray I had a similiar proplem that I fixed in a 1/2 hour. There's a box on the right side of the axle that the vacum line goes into, that houses a shifting fork. My problem was that the fork was all gummed up. I remove the
plate on the box and cleaned it out. I relubed and put it back together. I haven't had a problem in over 2 winters.
: MY FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS NOT WORKING. THE TRANSFERCASE IS SENDING POWER TO THE FRONT WHEELS....BUT THE FRONT WHEELS ARE NOT TURNING....CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE E-MAIL ME ASAP THANK YOU RAY KARASEK
: Hi Ray,
: I've actually had 2 problems similar to what you are describing, one was a blown clutch (no power to any wheels) and the other was only stoping the front wheels from engaging.
: I'll assume that your back wheels spin.
: The front wheels not spinning was caused by a bad vaccum line to the daipham that engages the front wheels.
: This was fixed by the dealership a few days after I picked up my Jeep. There were also linkage problems that were preventing it from going into 4Low, but I think it was unrelated to the problem with the front wheels.
: I'm not a mechanic, so I can't say for sure that this is your problem, but I'd take a look at the vaccum lines, you may have just knocked one loose and it may (hopefully) be a quick fix.
: Let me know how things work out,
