Hey TJ,
I never head out by myself, theres always someone in the passenger seat to help winch out when needed. It would be better/safer to head out with another Jeeper, but untill I hook up with someone willing in the Boston area (who's as insane as me), its just me, a co-pilot, and the YJ.
I could have used a second Jeep this weekend, we ended up beaching the YJ on a logging trail that had 3 foot wheel ruts. After a 3-5 hour strugle with the hand winch, we had managed to get it back about 75 feet before the "final beaching" and nightfall.
We walked to a farmhouse down the road and the owners called a tow truck and put us up for a few hours till it arrived.
I'll post all the details of this misadventure in the Life with the YJ section when I have a chance.
It was a very amusing day, and even getting stuck turned out to be a good time as we met a very nice couple and got to laugh at the tow truck when it stalled and killed its battery after winching us up to his rear bumper.

Anyways... if you've got a Jeep in the Boston area and you aren't concerned about dinging it up a bit and don't mind making your own trails when needed, send me some email and we'll hit the trails.
BTW, I'm starting to consider any route where the trees are less than 3 inches thick a trail.

Later,
EB

: man you take to many chances going out alone or take pictures of other vehicles that are with you.
