The YJ is now at the shop, they are doing a $350 fishing expedition to see if they can find out what broke, aparently it wasn't anything 'simple'. It's looking like the bill is going to run into the $800-900 range.
If anyone has had a similar failure, please let me know so I can tell if the garage is screwing me.

: The YJ just broke down.
: There is no power to the wheels in any gear in 2 or 4wd.
: The shift linkage sounds like its still attached and moving but the gears will not engage at all.
: There was no slipping prior to this happening, all was fine then I came to a stop, put it in first and the gears just slipped. I'm guessing some retaining pin just let go, and now theres no contact between the shifter and the gears.
: Any ideas? I'm calling the dealer in the morning to see when they can look at it.
